Sensei Ron Boyd has a unique and varried background. He generally just goes by Ron. Along with his 5th Dan in Traditional Aikido he also has rank in Arnis (3rd Kyu) , Tai Chi (1st Dan), Shaolin Karate (3rd Dan).
In addition to running his Dojos, he teaches aikido, arnis and tai chi at Eastern Kentucky University.
Ron’s teacher was Richard Rood, who studied with the founder of Aikido, Morihei Ueshiba.
In 2006, Ron was inducted into the United states martial Arts Hall of Fame.
Ron studied with Richard Rood for many years, and also studied with Ueshiba’s son, Kisshoumaru, and grandson, Moriteru. He has studied with varioius other aikido teachers and at several other schools, as well as several teachers of various styles.
